Obituary for Harold A. House

Harold A. House, 80 went to be with the Lord on Saturday January 20, 2007 at his home with his family at his side. Funeral services will be on Tuesday January 23, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the Central Church of Christ in Gering with Pastors Willie Coop and Herb Rainey co-officiating. Burial will follow at the East Lawn Cemetery near Minatare. Visitation will be on Monday January 22nd from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, the casket will be closed at the church. Memorials may be made to either the Prairie Haven Hospice or the Summit Christian Bible College. Jolliffe Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Harold was born on December 15, 1926 near Minatare to Roy and Viletta (Kistler) House. He attended elementary school at Lake Minatare and high school at Minatare graduating in 1944. Harold and Bettie Poland were married May 28, 1948 in Minatare, he farmed and had a cattle operation near Minatare retiring in 1988 when they moved into Minatare, they then moved into Gering in 1991. Harold and Bette Huber were married April 29, 2000 in Bayard; they enjoyed a life together with mutual love of friends, family and each other.

Harold had a great faith; he was very loving, generous, and kind to everyone. He loved his family and had time for everyone. He was an avid sports enthusiast as well as loved to play cards and visit with his friends.

He was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Gering where he taught Sunday school for many years.

He is survived by his wife Bette of Gering; son Kent (Dianna) House of Omaha; daughter Jeanie (Jerry) Kilthau of Gering; son Bill (Charlotte) House of North Platte; step-daughters Deanna (Roger) Funk of Mitchell and Dana Shultz of Scottsbluff; step-sons Dean (Marla) Huber of York and Dale (Chris) Huber of Tucson, AZ. Nine grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, as well as 12 Step-Grandchildren and 7 Step-Great Grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Bettie on December 19, 1998, a brother Lloyd House.
