Mary Lou was born October 22, 1924 in Scottsbluff, NE to Kent and Vera (Ludden) Lane. She married Carl Stratton on Dec 15, 1946 in Scottsbluff, and many shenanigans ensued. She was a witty, fun-loving and caring woman who brought laughter to everyone who met her. She loved playing cards with her friends, playing pranks, telling stories to all who would listen, and caring for her family. She attended Denver Business College, was a member of the Eastern Star, taught Sunday school, was a Guardian of Jobs Daughters in Lyman, was a member of Morrill Literary Club, and enjoyed many car trips with close friends. She also loved books and spent many long hours reading until her later years. She will be immensely missed by so many.
She is survived by her children Sandra (Steve) Lutz of Morrill and Steven (Jeane) Stratton of Lyman; grandchildren Kate (Shane) Schulz of Longmont, CO, Christopher (Elva) Lutz of Morrill, Mark (Jenna) Stratton of Lyman, and Megan Lutz of Omaha; and four great-grandchildren.
Her parents, husband Carl, half-brother Kenneth Lane, and many of her closest friends preceded her in death.
