Dick was born March 5, 1937 in Bayard, NE to George and Elizabeth Heimbuck Miller. He attended Hwy 76 School thru 8th grade and Bayard High School thru his junior year. He married Arletta Jane Clark, the love of his life on Feb. 6, 1954. To this union, 3 children were born: Marlyce, James and Gregory. Dick and Jane worked on the family farm until he started working in the oil field until retiring in 1996 from Shell Oil and moved back to Bayard.

Dick’s oil field career took him and Jane and their family to many different states and countries they enjoyed. Dick was a member of Hope Congregational Church in Bayard. He loved helping his friends, neighbors, and helping at the church. He enjoyed working on antique cars, playing golf, working in his garden and yard, and he especially loved his dogs.

He is survived by children Marlyce Cozart of Kodiak, AK, James (Coreen) Miller Madisonville, TX, and Gregory (Susan) Miller of Manistee, MI; grandchildren Kim (Nick) Nekeferoff, Stephanie (Andrew) North, Greg Miller, Michelle (Jeff) Hendrickson, Nathan Miller, Jesse Miller, and Meghan Miller; great-grandchildren Colton Miller, Samantha Hendrickson; brothers Howard Miller of Escalante, UT, and Robert Miller of Cortez, CO; sister Kathy Mitchell of Crawford, NE; sisters-in-law Sharon Karre and Verdena Clark of North Platte, NE; brother-in-law Steve Nerud of Bayard, NE; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

His parents, wife Arletta, sister Sharon Nerud, son-in-law Sidney Cozart, brother-in-law Nathan Clark, and sister-in-law Karen Adams preceded him in death.

His jovial smiling personality and helpful nature will greatly missed by family and friends.
