Wesley D  Joy
Wesley D. Joy, 64 of Morrill was called home Tuesday May 23, 2017 after a brief courageous battle with leukemia. A graveside inurnment will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday June 2, 2017 at Valley View Cemetery in Torrington, WY with Pastor Giles Armstrong officiating. Following the inurnment a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Berean Church. Family and friends are invited to the Morrill American Legion following the Memorial Service for refreshments, celebration and sharing. The family respectfully requests in lieu of flowers, memorials in Wes’ name be made to Mitchell Berean Church or the Panhandle Humane Society. Wes was born April 12, 1953 to Earl and Frances (Fisher) Joy of Lyman, NE. He graduated from Lyman High School in 1971 and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He married Jacie Larson in 1983 and welcomed Clint and Brittany as his son and daughter. Wes and Jacie later divorced. Wes married Dorothy Birch in 2012 and to this union Wes gained another daughter and son in law, Denise and Al.

He spent his life in the valley farming, working at Lockwood’s, Sargent Irrigation, and spent the last 23 years working with Union Pacific Railroad. He enjoyed his family and many friends. Wes never met a stranger. He loved reading, music, woodworking, and sharing his faith and love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Most will remember his humorous demeanor, ornery disposition and his unforgettable laugh.
Wes is survived by his wife Dorothy; son Clint (Kathy) Joy of Charlotte, NC;

daughters Brittany (Cory) Fitzsimmons of Wheatridge, CO and Denise (Al) Alpuin of Tampa, FL; brothers Jack (Stella) Joy of Cheyenne, WY, Darrell Joy of Indianapolis, IN, David Joy of Riverton, WY, and Ed (Laura) Joy of Northglenn, CO; sisters Deloris (Harold) Schillereff of Scottsbluff and Edna (Paul) Curry of Morrill; grandchildren Sascha, Jack and Zovi Joy, and Mia and Macie Fitzsimmons; many nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Donald and Dale; niece Angela Halstead and nephew Jason Joy.
