Obituary for Virginia G Montanez (Mota)

Virginia Montanez of Scottsbluff, Nebraska went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 12, 2021, peacefully with her family at her side. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Saturday, Nov 20, 2021 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with Fr. Rayappa Konka as Celebrant with a Rosary Service being held at 9:15am at the church. The family respectfully requests that memorials in Virginia’s honor be made in care of her family to be designated at a later date. Virginia was known to many for her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, this love she shared with whomever she met. She rose above many adversities being a widow at the age of 40 with 7 children. She was also known for her culinary and seamstress/quilter talents. Virginia’s loving spirit will be missed! She received her Associates Degree and LPN License in 1973. She worked over 50 years as a Nurse and put her heart and soul into caring for others. She also enjoyed volunteering in the community and helping others.
She is survived by her brother, John Mota, and her children: Manuel Montanez, Jr. (Lynn), Delf Montanez (Alvina), Ralph Montanez (Francis Galindo), Guadalupe Barrera. Daughter in Law Cynthia Montanez, Sandra Montanez (Marlin Peterson), Laurie Lopez (Vinson), 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Manual G Montanez Sr., two infant daughters, son Stephen Montanez, her parents Faustino & Epitacia Mota, siblings: Raymond Mota, Santos Mota, Eleanor DiLulo, Mercedes Harrison, Manuela Camarillo and Phyllis Hernandez.
Virginia’s loving heart and warm smile will be greatly missed by family and friends.
When asked, “How are you doing”? Virginia always replied,
“Better than yesterday, not as good as tomorrow!!”
