Obituary for Tad Doran Shelly
Tad passed away at home in Terrytown, NE on July 5, 2020. The family has chosen cremation, and a private family burial will be held at a later date at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Morrill, NE. He was the 6th of 7 children, born to Marilyn and Mick Shelly on March 30, 1967. As a child, he lived in many towns across Nebraska and Wyoming. As an adult, he settled in the Scottsbluff/Gering area. With the exception of a few years in Lincoln, NE. Yes, He had a temper...yes, he could be a troublemaker, and YES, he liked to party! With the partying, he often found himself within the hospitality of Scottsbluff County detention center. He confided to his cousin that he had a hard time dealing with depression and found drinking eased his pain. After 52 years, it was finally discovered he suffered from PTSD. He had many friends, and probably as many enemies. He was a handyman, a welder, laborer and an artist! Tad was ridden hard and put away wet, more than once in his life. He always found the courage to pull himself up and make the best of each day.
Tad is preceded in death by his parents; father, Mick Shelly, mother, Marilyn Shelly, sisters; Candy Sue and Cindy Rein, twin brothers; Timothy, Tommy.
He is survived by two daughters Nicole and Krissa, his big brother John and youngest brother Sam; two aunts, Melba Stager and Charlotte Steinbock, numerous cousins and friends.
Tad, we hope you are finally are at rest from your tortured soul. God be with you till we meet again.
