Obituary for Sharon Kae Stall (Hort)
Sharon K. (Hort) Stall, 79, of Scottsbluff, NE passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at the Village in Scottsbluff. Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday June 17th, 2022, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints with Bishop John Blomstedt officiating. Private family interment will be at a later date. Any memorials in Sharon’s honor can be made to the donor’s choice in her name. Sharon K. Hort was born on November 10, 1942, in Scottsbluff, to Phillip and Pauline (Gantz) Hort. She lived in Lyman where she attended school until she graduated from Lyman High School in 1961. She was involved in many activities throughout her time there.
Sharon married Donald Stall on October 25, 1963. Don and Sharon lived in many states while they were married, including Nebraska, New Mexico, California, and Oregon before coming back to Western Nebraska and calling Mitchell home for many years. During the time they lived in Mitchell, she was the Secretary at the High School and enjoyed getting to know many students as they passed through the office. Many students still remember her and would always talk to her when she was out and about. Sharon’s greatest joy in life was being a grandmother. She kept track of all her grandkids and bragged to anyone who would listen about their achievements. Sharon also enjoyed quilting and made a quilt for every one of her grandkids and great grandkids. She was always eager to tell her friends and family about the quilt she was working on. Other hobbies she enjoyed were gardening, reading, and going on drives with Don.
In 2021, they made the move to The Village. Thank you to The Village for the excellent care and compassion that they showed Mom at the end.
Sharon is survived by her husband Donald Stall, children Kristy (Todd) Weglin, Doug (Lori) Stall, William (Anita) Stall, Jennifer (Chuck Ball) Stall. Grandchildren are Adam (Molly) Weglin, Brittany (Tom) Milstead, Aaron Weglin, Tanae Stall, Donavan Stall, Caleb Skinner, Austin Skinner, Isaiah Stall, and Addison Stall. Great grandchildren are Zoey, Penny, and Riley Weglin, and Ansel Milstead. Sisters are Norma (Clarence) Kummer, Carol (Roger) Broadbent. Brothers are Eugene (Helen) Hort, Michael (Sheila) Hort. Brother-in-Law Harlen Weiss. She has many nieces and nephews that always held a special place in her heart.
Preceding her in death were her parents Phillip and Pauline Hort, stepmother Betty Hort, sister Carol Ann Weiss, and nephew Kenny Weiss.
