Sandra Kay Gibson, 72, of Scottsbluff, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. Her memorial service will be held at 11am on Monday, May 3, 2021 at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Scottsbluff with Father Mark Selvey officiating. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Services will be live streamed on Bridgman Funeral Home Facebook Page. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Sandra’s honor be made in care of the Animal Health Clinic or Common Grounds Dog Park. Sandy was born in Scottsbluff, NE to Loretta (Murphy) and Walter Deines on 17 October 1948. She graduated from Morrill High School and attended Nursing School at Western Nebraska Community College. During a 20-plus year career as an LPN, she worked in the NICU, ER, ICU, and Outpatient Surgery at Regional West Medical Center and at the Vet’s Home. She also worked at various flower shops. She served on the Common Grounds Dog Park committee.
She is survived by her son, Scott (Jennifer) Gibson of Junction City, KS; daughter, Amanda (Robert) Fertig of Scottsbluff, NE; Cara Haney of Kent, WA; Megan (Mark) Handzlik of Bellingham, WA. Grandson, Garret Gibson; granddaughter, Addison Gibson; Amber Fertig; Claire Eaton; Luke and Elly Handzlik. Countless friends and her precious pets, Chance, Ty, and Lily.
She was proceeded in death by her soulmate, Terry Haney.
