Pedro had a passion for life. He loved to dance, loved to fish and loved to grill.
He spent the first years of life in south Texas working mostly farm labor and construction.
In 1968 he brought his family to Nebraska to work the beet fields which later resulted in the family staying in the Morrill area working for the Flock/Beatty family for almost 20 years. He still considered them a part of his family. In the late 70’s he built the family home per Rosa’s design, though uneducated the did a very good job and Rosa was very happy there entertaining family and friends for many years. In 1989 they moved to Scottsbluff and worked for several farmers until his retirement.
After he retired, he and Rosa moved to Corpus Christi, TX to be close to family. In 2010 He suffered a stroke which eventually led him and Rosa to moved back to Scottsbluff to be close to their daughter. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and of course the Huskers but most of all he loved to watch John Wayne movies. He lost Rosa in 2017 and he lost a bit of his sparkle.
Preceding him in death are his first wife Consuelo, his beloved Rosa, his parents, his brothers Guadalupe and Roberto his daughter Sara.
He is survived by sons Anastacio and Freddie from California, Pete Jr, Gilbert and Guerro from Corpus Christi, TX, Ramiro from Omaha, and Bob from St Paul, Mn; daughter June (Vidal Salazar) from Scottsbluff; sister Rosa Lopez from Texas and Maria Lara from Scottsbluff; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Guerra.
The family would like to thank all the caregivers from the Helping Hands and Aging Office especially Mercedes Marez who cared for both our parents for many years. Also, thanks to the staff at The Monument Rehab, we will never forget them.
