Obituary for Opal Marie Knaub (Connolly)
Opal Marie (Connolly) Knaub, 88, of Scottsbluff, NE, passed away peacefully Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Emerald Court of dementia.
Opal was born May 8, 1934 in Alliance, NE, to Paul and Lena (Campbell) Connolly. Opal received her early education at Lake Alice and Minatare. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1951.
United in marriage to LeRoy Knaub November 17, 1950. Married 67 Years. To this union two daughters were born Teri and Diana.
Opal worked 33 years for Dr. Mark Dougherty, orthodontist.
There will be no service. A private family graveside has taken place at Fairview Cemetery. In honor of Opal and LeRoy’s wishes they will be interred together.
Survivors include: Daughter and son-in-law Teri and John Beeman of Scottsbluff, NE. Grandchildren Brian (Michelle) Beeman of Elk River, MN and Chad (Sandra) Beeman of Gillette, WY. Great Grandchildren, Sofia and Isaiah Beeman of Gillette, WY and Samuel Beeman of Elk River, MN. Grandson-in-law Jon Pfeiffer of Rapid City, SD. Brother-in-law Don Knaub of Scottsbluff, NE. Numerous nieces, and nephews. A special “Thank You” to her dedicated Emerald Court Family.
Opal was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy Knaub October 26, 2017. Parents Paul and Lena (Campbell) Connolly. In-laws Jake and Mary (Litt) Knaub. Granddaughter Melissa McKnight Pfeiffer. Son-in-law Tom McKnight. Brothers Robert (Bob) Connolly and Monte Connolly. Sisters Florence Fries and Patricia Kling. Brother-in-law Vic Fries. Sister-in-law Betty Knaub. Daughter Diana McKnight.
