Obituary for Larry Eugene "L J" Johnson
Larry “L J” E. Johnson, 72, of Scottsbluff, NE died Thursday, January 5, 2023, in the presence of his family at Abrazo Arrowhead Campus Hospital. His memorial service will be 1 PM Friday, January 27, 2023 at First United Methodist Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Joseph Schumacher officiating. L J was born in Scottsbluff, NE on August 23, 1950, the son of Lloyd E. and Helen R. Johnson. He graduated from Scottsbluff Senior High School with the Class of 1968. He received a degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2972. He was an owner-operator of Johnsons Rent-All until its closing in 2001. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandpa and a friend to all.
He married Muffy Farr on May 4, 2001. He and Muffy loved to travel and could often be found on the move in the RV or on a cruise ship. L J loved coaching baseball and football, being a grandpa, golfing, poker, trap shooting, hunting and motorcycling. He was an avid Nebraska football fan.
He is survived by his wife, Mary “Muffy” Johnson of Casa Grande, AZ; sister Pam (Allen) Gall of Morrill, NE; son Lance (Whitney) Johnson of Omaha, NE; Muffy’s daughters Dana (Craig) Arcand of Littleton, CO and Lisa Stright of Fort Collins, CO; grandchildren Rayna, Skylar and Jordyn Johnson, Orin and Ethan Gotchey and Ayla and Eva Stright.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
