Gladys Mary Edgar passed at the age of 105 at the Residency Care Center in Scottsbluff, NE. Her burial was held at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering. Her memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Bridgman Funeral Home in Scottsbluff with Pastor Rick Reisig officiating. Gladys was born November 27, 1917, in St. Paul, Nebraska to Charles and Farra Mae Geil. When she was two years old, her parents moved to Gering where she attended Gering Schools, graduating in 1936. She married Robert Edgar and to this union three daughters were born and raised.
She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed music and taught dance and piano. She was an avid reader and enjoyed travel, golf, camping trips and winters in Arizona and Texas.
She was an active member in the Rebekah Lodge (DAR) and the Central Church of Christ. Her family will especially miss her sense of humor and quick wit.
She is survived by her children Deanne (Robert) Swartzkopf and Bobbi (Roger) Sell; 8 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband Robert; daughter Denise and husband Sid Micek; parents and brothers Chet, Gordon and Don Geil.
