George E. Morris, 89, of Scottsbluff, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Cremation has taken place and private services will be held at a later date. George was born September 26, 1930 in Mitchell, NE to Vern and Dora Morris. After the family moved to Scottsbluff, George attended and graduated school in 1948. He then enlisted in the United States Navy where he was honorably discharged in 1952. He married Diana Donohoe on June 9, 1953, in Denver CO. George was employed by the US Postal Service from 1952 until his retirement as a Supervisor for Postal Services in 1986. George enjoyed fishing and camping with his family and friends and tinkering on many projects over the years.
Survivors include his sons Steven, Theodore (Jaci), Andrew, Daniel (Vicky) all of Scottsbluff, NE, Timothy (Cheryl) and Mathew (Georgia) all of Gillette, WY; daughter-in-law Tess Morris of Terrytown, NE; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
His parents; wife Diana; daughter Teresa Morris; son Patrick Morris; sisters Ida Melton and Wilma Trupp; and brother Gerald Morris all preceded him in death.
