Obituary for Floyd Dewayne Brunner

Floyd Dewayne Brunner, 85, of Scottsbluff, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 18, 2022, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. His funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday, February 25, 2022, at West Way Christian Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Joe Petersen officiating. The services will be livestreamed on Bridgman Funeral Home Facebook Page. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff beside his son. Military Honors will be provided by the Gering American Legion Post #36. Visitation will be Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 4-7pm at Bridgman Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. It is respectfully requested that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Floyd’s honor be made in care of Festival of Hope, or to the donor’s choice. Floyd was born on June 29, 1936, in Scottsbluff, NE to Alex Sander and Mary (Gerlock) Brunner. He grew up and was schooled in Nebraska and Wyoming areas. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged. On May 25, 1958, he married Violett Stitt. They shared their life and love with their 3 children: Kelly, Kimberly and Kerry. Floyd worked in the dairy and trucking business until retirement.
Floyd is survived by his wife Violett of 64 years; son Kelly (Shannon) Brunner and family Stephanie (Chad) Keller with Logan and Liam, Brandi Brunner, Samantha (Sean) Williams with Kole, Blaine, Julia and Rosae, and Tyler and Trevor Brunner; daughter Kimberly Brunner and family Kerry and Brittany Halte; sisters Shirley and Diane dear aunt Bertha; special friend Donna; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by son Kerry, parents, parents-in-law, sisters Ruth and Mary Jane; brothers Harry, Alex Jr. and Robert; sister-in-law and brother-in-law.
