Obituary for Esther Sueko Goishi

Esther Sueko Goishi, beloved sister, aunt and friend, passed into eternal life on March 7, 2023, at the Mitchell Care Center. She was 102 years young. Esther’s remains were cremated and inurnment will take place at a later date at the Mitchell Valley Cemetery. Memorials in her name may be directed to the Mitchell Care Center in Mitchell, NE. Bridgman Funeral Home has assisted the family with her arrangements.
Esther was born in Mitchell, NE on March 1, 1921, to her parents Shimataro and Tamayo (Hayashi) Tomi. Esther was the third eldest of 8 brothers ad sisters. She graduated from Mitchell High School and cosmetology school in Denver, CO. On January 6, 1944, she was united in marriage to Ted Goishi in Scottsbluff, NE. They later moved to California and made their home in Monrovia, CA. In California, she was a hairdresser for many years. She also had a passion in raising beautiful orchids at their home. Ted and Esther were married for 71 years until the time of his death in 2015. She then moved from California to live with her brother Edwin in Mitchell, NE where she resided for 7 years.
Esther is survived by brothers Sam (Anna) Tomoi and Edwin Tomoi both of Mitchell, NE; sisters-in-law Ruth Tomoi, Gering, NE and Irene Tomoi, Chula Vista, CA; nieces Adrianne Ikey, Moraga, CA, Nancy Tashiro, Longmont, CO, Joan Sakyo, Pleasanton, CA, Deborah Kawakami, Centennial, CO, Joyce (Harry) Parker, Sun Lakes, AZ, Gaylene (Rick) West, Loveland, CO, Karen (George) Shinzaki, San Diego, CA, Tami (Randy) Lippstreu, Scottsbluff, NE, Kathy (Randy Bohac) Tomoi, Kimball, NE; nephews Robert (Diane) Hara, Parker, CO, Ken Yamada, Cheyenne, WY, Bill Tomoi, Chula Vista, CA, Tom (Kim) Tomoi, Scottsbluff, NE, Randy (Deb) Tomoi, Columbus, NE, Don (Diane) Tomoi, Ft.
