Obituary for Daniel H Abel
Daniel H. Abel, 67, of Bridgeport, left this earth July 2, 2022, at Swedish Medical Center in Colorado. Services will be held Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Broadwater at 10am with Pastor Bud Gillespie officiating. There will be no viewing and ashes will be interred at a later date. A lunch will follow at the church. It is respectfully requested that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Daniel’s honor be made in care of Bridgeport Shooting Sports, or Broadwater Fire Department. Dan was born October 19, 1954, to Dale and Emma Abel. He grew up south of Broadwater, attending District 8 through 5th grade, then Broadwater through 8th grade, graduating from Bridgeport in 1972.
Dan married Connie Lamb in1985 and to this union 2 sons were born, Cutter and Dakota. In 2006 Dan met Terri Hoskins and were loving partners till his passing. Dan worked for Loxterkamp Farms before starting his career in Broadwater as Equipment operator and Foreman for the Morrill County Highway Department from 1988 to 2017.
Dan loved his boys with all his heart but didn't stop there. He was Dad and Grandpa to so many who loved him equally. He loved his garden, and was a great marksman leaving many great memories of hunting expeditions.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Connie, son Cutter, brother Bill, and sister Vickey.
He is survived by wife Terri, son Dakota, daughter Marlena, brother Dave (Cheri) sister Linda, sister-in-law Sandy and brother-in-law Chyde (Kathy). His kids he loved and called his own Keri (Bill) Cassie, Rick (Meghan) Sean (Kelly) and all his grandkids who loved him dearly.
Everyone will remember this wonderful man by his big laugh and his love of spending time with others.
