Cindy was born in Sterling, Colorado to Gene and Ruth (Pummel) Marshall. She went to school in Sterling and later received her CNA License.
Cindy had a great love for Colorado and that is where she started her family. Cindy met the love of her life Ron Leisy in Colorado while working. The love for Ron outweighed her love for Colorado. In 1993 she moved her family to Nebraska where they doubled in size and her and Ron had a real-life Brady Bunch (Cowboy style).
Cindy enjoyed working alongside Ron driving her own semi-truck at their bull hauling company. She also enjoyed working as a CNA at Heritage Nursing home. Cindy would take her children and grandchildren to the nursing home on her days off to visit the residence, especially the residence that never had visitors. Cindy was a passionate caregiver while at work but also liked to have fun and play pranks on her co-workers. She was one of a kind.
Cindy was so proud of her family, she took numerous amounts of pictures and had to brag about them any chance she got. Going camping and fishing with her family was some of the best times to make memories. She also loved to read, color, and bird watch. Cindy did not enjoy football but that did not stop her for cheering for anyone going against the Husker or the Packers, she loved to get Ron riled up. Even though she did not like sports she loved attending any sport her grandchildren were playing. Everyone who knew Cindy was aware she had a great love for animals and would take in any stray possible. It didn’t stop with dogs and cats. There were cows, horses, rabbits, buffalos, birds and a skunk (Pepe), raccoon (Cookie) are just a few. Cindy had a huge heart that was overflowing with love for everybody and everything. Cindy loved to travel. She was able to go to Hawaii with her husband and she talked about the trip frequently. This last summer she made her last long-distance trip to North Carolina to meet her two great grand babies.
Cindy is survived by her daughter Stephanie (Jason) Perkins of Bayard, Ne; son Joe (Kendra) Andis of Omaha, Ne; daughter Michelle (Tony) Andis of Hubert, NC. Justin Leisy of Severance, Co; Melissa (Charles) Taylor of Mitchell, Ne; grandchildren Kyler Sides; Jacob, Luke, and Addisyn Dalbey; Jared, Shazlyn, and Jayden Perkins; Jordyn (Phillip) Brown; Kaydence, Makynna, and Ashlynn Bartholomew; Renee Cline; Grace and Ruth Keller; Dauze, Kiayah, Mattie, and Tavynn Taylor; and Gavin and Dylan Leisy; great-grandsons Philip Jr. Brown and Kamdyn Ramirez; sisters Carrie Waite and Carol (Robin) Muirheid; brother Eric Marshall; brothers-in-law Rex Leisy, Bruce (Karol) Leisy, and Bob (Diane) Leisy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
