Caroline M. Wilhelm, 84, of Gering, Nebraska, passed away peacefully at home on November 17, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

Caroline was born July 16, 1936, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, the daughter of David and Katie (Green) Schwartzkopf. She had three siblings, Esther (William Siegel), Robert (Norie Schwartzkopf), and Dorthy (Bill Zimmerman). She graduated from Scottsbluff High School Class of 1955 and attended Scottsbluff Junior College. On February 24th, 1956 she married Robert E Wilhelm. During February 2020, they celebrated their 64th anniversary. To this union, they had three children. Caroline worked as a bookkeeper which she enjoyed thoroughly.

Caroline’s greatest passion was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved gardening, cooking, and playing bingo, but most of all she loved her family, holidays, and family gatherings. She was a mother to everyone and all the kids in the neighborhood looked up to her. A stranger to no one, she had a beautiful smile that could light up any room.

Caroline is preceded in death by her parents; sister Esther; brother Robert; son-in-law Brad; in-laws Carl and Sarah Wilhelm, Marge and Ruben Stricker, and niece Diana Vieselmerer.

She is survived by her husband Robert; sister Dorothy; children Jeff (Wilhelm), Kim (Brad) Ockinga, and Karla (Mike) Rowe; grandchildren Kaleb (Katrina), Jesse, Koltn (Macrissa); as well as great-grandchildren Bentley and Katie.

A private family service will be held Monday November 23, 2020. Public service will be held and announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Caroline’s name.

Hey Jeff..Kim..Karla
I am sorry to see that your mom, Caroline has passed away. She had spunk and you three take after her. She was fun to visit with, when she came to the vision clinic to pick out a new pair of glasses. She sure could make you laugh... Prayers to all of you and your family's.

Caroline was a wonderful woman who spread joy wherever she went. Her smile warmed the hearts of family, friends and strangers alike. She was a bright spot in the minds of everyone who knew her. The world is a little colder without her. May God's love comfort those with sadness in their hearts. You will be missed Caroline, rest easy now.

May God be with you and keep you in His arms. Katie Schwartzkopf was Marvin's mother, Mary Green;s, sister. Aunt Katie came out to the farm yearly to help make noodles and butterballs with the eggs Mom's hens layed.
Our prayers are with you.

Uncle Bob, Jeff, Kim & Karla,

Aunt Caroline was such a strong, beautiful, loving person. Her love for family and friends was unsurpassed. Thinking back to our childhood and how lucky we were to share all of our holidays and special events together, the amazing food!! (Deviled eggs will always bring a smile)
Thanksgiving hasn’t been the same since I left Scottsbluff but, I know there’s a lot of love and hugs waiting for us when our time on earth Is through.
In time we’ll get together and have a proper remembrance for our beautiful Caroline. Until then, our memories are plentiful and a comforting gift that she has left us.

Love you all.
