Albert was born July 31, 1934 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to David Becker and Mollie (Miller) Becker. He received his early education at Lake Alice School and graduated from Scottsbluff Senior High School in 1953. His love for farming inspired his participation in FFA throughout high school.
Albert, better known as “Fizz”, worked on the family farm all his life. He married his high school sweetheart Shirley Adams in 1954. They moved into the house we all know and love in 1967. Albert and Shirley established their family farm and grew plenty of corn, beans, beets, potatoes, wheat, and hay. Together they raised hogs and cattle, as well as three children, Dori, Greg, and Alan.
He was the man who could teach himself anything from farming to fixing TVs, the jack of all trades you might say. He loved Ham Radio; you knew him by his call sign on his license plate KA0VAD. He was a man stronger than an ox, he fought the good fight and finished his race with grit.
Albert is survived by his wife Shirley Becker of Scottsbluff, NE; sister Pat (John) Hardt; sister-in-law Pat Becker; daughter Dori (Bob) Gorr, grandson Nicholas Gorr and granddaughter April Simmons; son Alan (Becky) Becker, granddaughters Krystal Becker (Bianka, Anthony, and Noah), Krystle (Nick) Christy (Sianna and Jebin) and Alanna Becker; daughter-in-law Lisa Becker, grandson Jonathan (Lanie) Brooks (Camryn and Jacob), granddaughters Danielle (Brock) Becker (Theodore) and Michelle (Isaiah) Gonzalez; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Albert is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law Henry and Mary Adams, siblings Betty (Art) Grasmick, Virginia (Elmer) Cook, Larry Becker, and son Greg Becker.
